Heidi Kilpeläinen Performing ‘Tango Therapy’
Heidi will be performing ‘Tango Therapy’ and discussing the making of her film that documents her journey through Finland while performing ‘Tango Therapy’ in Refugee centres and war invalids homes, across the country.
She describes ‘Tango Therapy’ as:
“A performance in which I sing to one person at a time sitting opposite each other, anyone from the audience is welcome to take part. The performance is without amplification and is therefore intimate, consisting mainly of Finnish Tango songs. Human presence and eye contact is important in this piece, understanding of Finnish language is not important, it is the melody and the sentiment that communicate beyond the boundaries of language.”
Tango Therapy Project is funded by KONE.
