Photographers Paul Hill and Maria Falconer volunteered to work with refugees in Greece, helping in a very small way with the refugee crisis. Thanks to the support of many generous donations they were able to fund their trip as well as buy essential supplies for refugees while they were there - tents, shoes, gloves and hats, underwear, food, and cash donations including €500 for emergency relief at the Idomeni camp.
It was a challenging and heartbreaking experience for both of them. Now that they have returned, they want to continue to support the refugees in whatever way they can.
Whilst there, they made a photographic work entitled "ANON", partly as a comment on the status of the refugees, and partly out of respect for individual's privacy and security.
"ANON" has been exhibited at L'Espace Pointes de Vue gallery in Lauzerte, France, and at the Library of Birmingham. It is now at the Photo Space in Ludlow.
