An exhibition of photography exploring life as a young asylum seeker in Birmingham.
My Place...? is an exhibition of photography by Hassan, a young asylum seeker from Afghanistan. The exhibition tells the story of Hassan and his friends and their experiences of living in Birmingham as young asylum seekers. His photographs act as forms of documentation which shine light upon their journeys across the border and their everyday lives in the present, as well as reflecting their hopes and aspirations for the future.
The exhibition is the result of creative sessions facilitated by The GAP over the past six months, within which we have supported Hassan in developing his interest in photography, politics and story-telling, and worked together to create a format within which to share his views and his story.
