Kainaat proudly presents its Refugee Week show ‘Zakham’. Loosely translating to ‘wound’ in Farsi, Arabic, Hindi, and Urdu, the artists bring you embodied narratives on wounding. Colonialism has wounded our relationship to Queerness, Religion, Homeland, and Love. Zakham draws on poetry, puppetry, dance, and theatrics to tell stories of the pain and displacement that centre the colonial wounds of South Asia and the Middle East. Come and join artists Aanka, Hassan, Anne, and Mahtab as they speak of their interconnected inheritance of border imperialism and life as a foreigner.
