This year will see the third annual Great Get Together, inspired by the MP Jo Cox, happening on the last weekend of Refugee Week (21 – 23 June).
The Great Get Together (GGT) is a major national campaign that brings communities together to achieve national unity. It was founded by The Jo Cox Foundation in the wake of Jo’s murder in 2016. Based on her fundamental values of kindness, compassion and inclusivity, the campaign seeks to continue Jo’s positive legacy and promote the powerful message that we have more in common than that which divides us. The third annual GGT will take place from 21- 23 June 2019, in celebration of what would have been Jo’s 45th birthday.
Jo’s belief in what we all have in common couldn’t be closer to Refugee Week’s conviction that we have one shared future, and we’re inviting those who would like to celebrate both Jo’s legacy and Refugee Week to hold joint a Refugee Week-Great Get Together event on 21 – 23 June.
