RWGGT Promo - TwitterOne of our Simple Acts for Refugee week 2021 is walk together.

Along with the Jo Cox Foundation, we’re inviting you to take part in the Great Walk Together – to celebrate Refugee Week and the Great Get Together 2021.

This UK-wide walk brings people together to celebrate the Great Get Together’s #MoreInCommon message, and simultaneously take part in Refugee Week and its theme, ‘We Cannot Walk Alone’, by inviting you to extend your hand to someone new.

Organising a Great Walk Together is the perfect way to both encourage new community connections and reflect on the journeys that refugees face – including by sharing your act of welcome for Little Amal, ahead of the incredible ‘The Walk’ by Good Chance, which begins this July.

1. Download the toolkit

The Great Walk Together Toolkit is a document packed with everything you’ll need to organise your own walk. There’s guidance and support on everything from planning your route, to suggest activities that you can do during your event.

2. Plan your event

We are encouraging organisers to host their walks on Sunday, 20 June 2021. However, if another date works for you during or around Refugee Week (14 – 20 June), you are welcome to host your walk then instead.

Whenever you decide to hold your walk, make sure you upload your event to the virtual map by 18 June.

3. Walk

Don’t forget to share your pictures on social media using #WeCannotWalkAlone and #MoreinCommon. You can also share feedback on how your walk goes by emailing hello@greatgettogether.org.

If your social media post includes images or names of other people, make sure you get permission first, including from parents/ guardians of anyone under 18.
