I started a retirement project a year ago that combined an interest in art, design and photography with a desire to support refugees. I created a range of quality art greetings cards, and I give 50% of profits to the Refugee Council, which is a Refugee Week partner (the rest goes towards producing more cards).

The images used are from photographs I have taken, paintings and lithographs I have created or images produced by my son, Jack Holden, who is an artist.

I currently have over 40 designs – here is a small selection:

To date I have raised nearly £1500 for charity and hope to raise a lot more.

My cards are on sale in a wide range of outlets including the Photographer’s Gallery, Lutyens and Rubinstein in Notting Hill, The Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh, Lakeside Gallery shop and Five Leaves Bookshop in Nottingham, Booths Book in Hay, the Whitby Bookshop and several others.

But while it is great having the cards in such reputable outlets, I raise more funds selling directly to the public, including through my online shop.

Alternatively, come and see the cards during Refugee Week 2017 as I am selling them on June 20^th in the foyer at Kings Place, Kings Cross London and on June 21^st at the Waterstones shop on Gower Street Bloomsbury.

I am also delighted to say that the cards will be on display and available at the Hay Festival Bookshop in the main tent during the Hay Festival from the 25^th May to 4^th June 2017.
