What role does compassion play in the refugee experience? IG LIVE

On Monday, 19th June, Women for Women International – UK be kicking off World Refugee Week with an Instagram Live exploring what it means to be a refugee and how compassion, or the lack of it, impacts refugees as they come to terms with their new reality.

Meet our IG live guests:

⭐ Mick Élysée is a Women for Women International Ambassador and Michelin-Star trained chef originally from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. At the age of 14, Mick fled his home and found safety in Toulouse, France. Today, Mick uses his platform to demonstrate the positive action men can take to promote women’s rights while also sharing healthy African cuisine with the world.

⭐ Kateryna Shukh is an artist, psychologist and the Vice President of our partner Bereginja – Mariupol’s Women’s Association. Having fled the war in Ukraine, Kateryna now supports other Ukrainian women, running art therapy sessions to help them to come to terms with the loss and trauma they have faced.

This is not an event to be missed, so, make sure to put this one in your diaries. We’ll see you there on Monday 19th June at 6 pm.
