City of Sanctuary is a movement to build a culture of hospitality for people seeking sanctuary in the UK. The charity encourages communities to take pride in offering a place of safety for people whose lives are threatened, and to celebrate their contribution to our towns and cities.
The local Cambridge City of Sanctuary group was founded in October 2015. Cambridge is known throughout the world as a centre of learning and enlightenment, and as an intellectual and technological powerhouse. Our aim is to empower this amazing community to use its resources to help refugees.
We work with schools, businesses, community groups and faith groups on a variety of projects. If you want to get involved, consult our website and drop us a line. We also act as a forum for other organizations who work on this issue: Cambridge Calais Refugee Action Group, Cambridge Refugee Resettlement Campaign and the Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum.
