Norwich International Youth Project was established in 2002, and has since flourished, welcoming as variety of young people from many different backgrounds including Eritrea, Afghanistan, Kurdistan, Iran, Iraq and The Democratic Republic of Congo.
Most of our young people are Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children, although we also welcome refugee children and other young non-EU nationals.
We meet three times a week: once for group activities; once for individual support; and once for sports.
Through our relationship building we help young people to build a social infrastructure; learn the ropes of a new language and culture and ultimately achieve integration. Our social support, informal training, education and life skills, contribute to providing some of the same opportunities open to other young people in this area.
