Do you currently run drop-ins or workshops for refugees and asylum seekers in London? Does your venue have a kitchen? Would some of your clients like the opportunity to prepare food for the group? And take some home?
IN THE MIX has funding to cover this and we can come to you.

I have worked with refugees and asylum seekers in Europe and the UK for seven years. My experience ranges from Calais distributions, to creative workshops, refugee theatre, drop in facilities and casework.
“One day I will cook for you” was a phrase graciously offered by many refugees and asylum seekers over the years, living in limbo, often in hostels and hotels with no kitchen facilities. The IN THE MIX project was a direct response.
For the past two years we have been running IN THE MIX as a weekly Community Kitchen and Social Club in Kilburn. People from refugee backgrounds run the kitchen and anyone who wishes to dine with us, may do so. Each week we have a “head chef” who cooks their chosen dishes, with 5 – 6 helpers.
The response has been tremendous, not just to the kitchen and the food, but from the community as well.
We are now looking to bring IN THE MIX to organisations who provide outreach, drop-ins and workshops for Asylum Seekers in London. If you are working in a venue with a kitchen and think some of your guests would like to prepare a meal for everyone attending, we can come to you, arrange the ingredients and logistics and oversee the kitchen.
