Barbican Film Screening: The Swimmers
We’re delighted to be collaborating with UNHCR and Barbican Cinema on a screening of Sally El Hosaini’s inspiring film The Swimmers to mark Refugee Week.
The film tells the powerful story of two Syrian sisters who flee their home after the outbreak of war. It follows their heroic and miraculous journey to Germany and the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with director, Sally El Hosaini and Vicky Tennant, UNHCR’s representative to the UK, facilitated by Emma Cherniavsky, UK for UNHCR’s Chief Executive.
(Barbican Cinema 1 is located within the main Barbican building on Level -2. Head to Level G and walk towards the Lakeside Terrace where you’ll find stairs and lifts to take you down to the venue floor.)
