IN THE MIX DINNER – JUNE 19th
To celebrate Refugee Week, IN THE MIX has been invited to host a dinner at Yorkton Workshops, London E3 8NH in Hoxton. It’s a pay what you can event. All proceeds go to the Charity – Refugees Biryani and Banas who currently distribute food in Rafah and Gaza, as well as Greece.
The food is Eritrean, Sudanese and Yemeni. The atmosphere is convivial. The food caters for vegan, vegetarian and halal. No alcohol being served.
IN THE MIX is a community kitchen run by refugees and asylum seekers volunteers that, for over two years, has been serving a weekly dinner to the community.
It’s much more than a meal though. It’s about bringing people together around a table for a shared experience. It’s about tackling isolation, and about people in the same neighborhood collaborating. There’s nothing new or clever about what we do, but it makes people happy.
