No Pride In Detention short film screening and Q&A

LGBTQIA+ people come to the UK fleeing persecution. But instead of finding safety here, some are locked up in detention centres where they face LGBTQIA-phobic bullying, harassment and abuse. No Pride in Detention (2022) was created by Rainbow Migration, with LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers in Liverpool City Region.

The short film will be followed by a panel discussion, which will include detailed accounts of lived experience as an asylum seeker in the UK.

Speakers:

  • Manono (Many Hearts One Member with experience of detention)
  • Jared (Many Hearts One Heart Member)
  • Emma Webb (Campaigns Manager, Rainbow Migration)
  • Arthur Britney Joestar (Moderator, Heart of Glass)

Doors open from 5.30pm, ready for the film to start at 6pm. This event will finish around 7.30pm.
