Naomi Kalu is 2023-24 Sheba Arts’ Talent Development Artist. We’ve had the privilege of collaborating with Naomi for a number of years now. With mentoring support from Clive Hunte, she will be performing a selection of tracks from her debut album. She will be playing with Sheba House Band, formed by herself (Voice and Guitar), Clive Hunte (Bass), Danny Ward (Drums and Percussion), Sanja Cin (Keys), and Deane Smith (Guitar). The supporting act is Milana, who will be flute solo-playing.

Naomi is a twenty year-old National Champion boxer and singer who plays the guitar, piano, and drums. She has composed original tracks for various Sheba Festivals, and performed with the Hamza Ensemble at Sheba Fest 22.

Her favourite sound is neo-soul; she also loves reggae grooves, rock and electronic music. She loves listening to Frank Ocean and Tracy Chapman, among others! You can find her singing at Manchester clubs like Jam Street and Lost Cat.
