Sunflowers Will Still Grow

Sunflowers Will Still Grow

A collaboration between the Indian visual storyteller Saurabh Narang, based in Gummersbach, Germany, and Anastasiia Reshetnyk, a Ukrainian refugee studying journalism. Together they are documenting stories of Ukrainian refugees who fled to Bernberg (population 5,000) in Gummersbach, Germany.

This is a long-term multimedia project that portrays stories focused on Ukrainian culture and its integration journey into the German countryside. So far seven families have been included in the project. You can see the images and read more about the project here.

As recipients of the prestigious German award Manufactum Staatspreis NRW 2023, their work is also being exhibited at the MAKK (Museum für Angewandte Kunst Köln) until 13 August 2023, with an artist talk on 18 July. You can find out more about it here.
