Universities as Agents of Change in Humanitarian Crises
Panellists:
– Sarah Hoey, Deputy Head of Global Community and Immigration Legal Adviser, Edinburgh University
– Adith Srinivasan, Co-founder and Executive Director of the Forum for Global Human Rights
The event will include a discussion and Q&A with panellists on the responses of universities to global humanitarian crises (such as conflicts, refugee crises, and natural disasters), followed by a workshop simulating the formulation of institutional responses to humanitarian crises in higher education. The workshop aims to equip students and scholars, particularly those from at-risk backgrounds, with an understanding of how universities adapt to crisis situations and develop internal policy.
