Colombian Truth Commission and University of Liverpool
A Museum for Me’ website contains testimonies, poetry, dance, music, and art focused on highlighting the stories of Colombians exiled in the UK. ‘A Museum for Me’ has been put together by the University of Liverpool as part of their academic work on Memory, Victims and Representations of the Colombian Conflict (@mvrcolombia), in collaboration with groups and individuals who are working to support the Colombian diaspora and the processes of the Colombian Truth Commission.
The Truth Commission was created as part of the 2016 peace accord between the Colombian Government and the FARC guerrilla movement and seeks to establish the Truth behind the human rights abuses and violations that occurred during the internal conflict and establish collective responsibilities for these crimes. The Commission seeks not only to establish the Truth but secure acknowledgement of what happened, promote co-existence and work towards non-repetition of the violence.
