Two's Company ride to Grimsbury Farm.

A Group Bike Ride

A led ride from Derby City Council house to Elvaston Castle along the scenic Riverside Path. The ride is approximately 5 miles each way on a flat, traffic-free route.

Why are we doing this?

This ride is part of the Great Get Together, an initiative inspired by the late Jo Cox MP and part of National Refugee Week, a UK-wide festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

We also wanted an opportunity to celebrate the work Life Cycle UK has been doing in Derby in association with British Red Cross as part of their five year funded project, "Reaching Out".

The Important Details:

  • Gather at 10:30 at the rear of Derby City Council House on the Riverside path.
  • The ride will depart at 11:00 prompt and arrive by midday at Elvaston Castle.
  • Life Cycle UK will be providing a free Dr Bike bike repair surgery in the Courtyard at our destination.
  • The event will also feature inspiring guest speakers talking about the challenges faced by refugees and the benefits of cycling on physical and mental health.
