We will celebrate our 3rd Annual International Mass at Salford Cathedral on Saturday 22nd June, which marks the end of Refugee Week. I am keen to extend an invite to you as we come together as a Diocese to celebrate our diversity and vibrancy.
Our schools and parishes have a wonderful sense of community and this Mass is an opportunity to recognise the contribution of those who have chosen to settle and make the Diocese of Salford their home. The theme of the Mass is 'No-one left behind', and as well as celebrating our many different communities we will also be reflecting on the importance of solidarity both in our faith and in our communities.
We will hear at least five choirs, from the African, Filipino and Urdu communities as well as from two schools. Like last year the African Choir will dance in the Gospel, and representatives from each community will bring up an item that speaks of their ethnicity as part of the Offertory. Bidding Prayers, hymns and prayers will be in many languages, making this a fully inclusive celebration, that we hope will inspire, inform and include all generations in our diverse Church.
We look forward to seeing you there!
