My journey from Afghanistan to the UK with Hameeda Hussani

ARU alumna Hameeda Hussaini shares the story of her journey from Afghanistan to the UK.

Hameeda was born in Afghanistan and moved to the UK as a refugee when she was 13 years old. Hameeda talks about how she came to the UK, the challenges and obstacles she faced and encountered upon her arrival to the UK, such as the culture shock, religious differences and being unable to read or speak English. Considering career options, her doubts and setbacks were overruled when studying Law at ARU.

Hameeda talks about the experiences and the changes she has come across throughout her life, from weaving carpets to practicing Law. This is not just Hameeda’s story; it's also the story of many more refugees like her.
