Migration Lates: Refugee Week 2019

Join us for a special Refugee Week late opening featuring storytelling, performances, art workshops, food and more.

This will be a free and informal event, with different activities taking place throughout the evening across our exhibition and café spaces.

Confirmed activities and participants include:

A story-telling performance by Qisetna, a non-political platform for Syrians and the people who have a close connection, preserving the cultural and oral heritage of Syria, from food to aspirations to treasured places.

A dance workshop by the Hawiyya Dance Company, a women’s dabke group who explore identity, culture and resistance through dance.

Food by Migrateful, a charity which helps refugees, asylum seekers and migrants to gain skills through cookery. This will be subsidised for refugee and asylum-seeking guests attending.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy an art workshop with our curator in residence, Dima Karout, in the art studio in our Room to Breathe exhibition.

More details and collaborators to be confirmed nearer the time, along with precise timings for activities and performances on the evening.

This is a free event, but please register in advance to guarantee entry on the evening.
