Across the world, a staggering 68.5 million people have fled their homes in search of a safer place to live. Among them are over 25 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18. But behind the numbers are families, friends, and individual people.
This Refugee Week, the British Red Cross Community Fundraising Team will be hosting a Documentary Film Screening at our Hackney Refugee Centre. Join us in watching ‘Calling Home’ and ‘Syrian Stories: Homeland’ and follow the stories of people attempting to contact home after fleeing war.
Following the films, there will be a post-screening discussion about the documentaries, the topic, and a chance to find out more about the Red Cross’s work tracing and reuniting families.
The event takes place in our Hackney Refugee Centre, so you can see the inside of this iconic and life saving building.
Every attendee will receive a free goodie bag!
