Refugee torture survivor collective Stone Flowers will be performing with Manchester Camerata for a unique, immersive performance at Gorton Monastery in Manchester on 23rd June.
The performance is part of our Conflict & Compassion programme which explores the conflict of World War I from untold and overlooked perspectives outside of Europe.
We all shared stories of World War I in Iran, India, Sri Lanka, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic and Britain. We reflected on how this war led to a century of conflict that has shaped the modern world.
Our themes have been interwoven into a compelling immersive performance for Refugee Week, to inspire audiences for a better, more peaceful future for us all. The performance will include newly written music interwoven with music by World War I composers (Elgar, Butterworth) and incredible live visuals. We’ll be transforming this iconic venue into an unmissable sensory experience.
