A Syrian Night in Bristol

Picture1

Join us during refugee week in creating a bridge between different cultures as we work towards welcoming a Syrian refugee family to our neighbourhood. Our Community Sponsorship will rebuild the lives of a refugee family, and bring positive benefits to our community.
A meal: a delicious Syrian Supper (meat and veggie options) prepared with love and generosity by Karam Kitchen - a women’s enterprise empowering Syrian refugees in Bristol.
Storytelling: Qisetna | قصّتنا is a non-political project which works on preserving the cultural and oral heritage of Syria, one story at a time. With stories from the narrow alleys of Old Damascus to the cotton fields of Deir Ezzor, this project has featured at the Scottish International Storytelling Festival, Tate Modern, Park Theatre, and has been showcased by UNESCO United for Heritage 2016 campaign.
Live music: Dijwar Khalil has become one of the features of the Bristol music community. He will be playing the ‘Saz’ a
traditional Middle Eastern instrument.
