Charlbury Choir raise their voices for Freedom from Torture

Voices Unlimited, Charlbury’s friendly and vibrant community choir will be raising their voices on Friday, 23rd June at St Mary’s Church, Church Road, North Leigh, OX29 6TX, when they perform a concert in support of the charity Freedom from Torture.

Choir leader, Katherine Lucas, who has many years’ experience teaching community music, has been described by one of her choir members as “the Gareth Malone of Charlbury”.    The concerts are always lively and entertaining, and performances often include at least one song for full audience participation.  Whether audience members think they can sing or not, they are likely to find themselves on their feet singing 3 or 4 part harmonies and really enjoying it!

Voices Unlimited are sharing the platform with the very talented singer/musician and composer, Jenny Larsen performing songs she has written that reflect thoughts and feelings of our current times. Jenny will be supported by the band, Laveroc.

With themes such as respect, tolerance, friendship the music will tie in well with the charity that Voices Unlimited are raising money for, Freedom from Torture, as it supports survivors of torture who arrive in the UK from many different countries.

The concert is at St Mary’s Church, Church Road, North Leigh, OX29 6TX, at 7.30 pm on Friday, 23 June.  Tickets £10/£8.00 for low waged.
