World Refugee Day 2019: Refugee Voices Then and Now

wiener

In honour of World Refugee Day, The Wiener Library is delighted to host a pop-up exhibition and panel discussion co-organised with Action for Education, a young and dynamic NGO supporting refugee communities in Greece. Action for Education runs non-formal education centres in Chios, Samos and Athens for women and youth. A number of the works (including poetry, short stories and drawings) produced by young refugees as well as representative examples from the Library’s collections will be on display, exploring themes of refugees’ experiences then and now, such as displacement and resilience.

The panel will raise awareness about the work in Greece and explore the contemporary and historical impact of migration. Further details about the panel discussion will be updated in due course.

This event is free to attend but spaces are limited and registration is required.
