We are delighted to announce that the International Organization for Migration (IOM) UK has become the latest member of the Refugee Week partnership.

IOM was founded in 1951 to assist in the resettlement of Europeans displaced in the aftermath of World War II and has played a vital role in refugee resettlement around the world since.

Nowadays, IOM UK plays a significant role in the resettlement of refugees to the UK, through the Gateway Protection Programme and the Syria Vulnerable Persons Relocation Scheme (VPRS), working on health assessments, document handling and travel assistance before they are helped to settle in communities by local authorities and NGOs.

Dipti Pardeshi, IOM UK Chief of Mission, said: “Taking part in Refugee Week is a great opportunity for IOM UK to promote the reception and integration of refugees in the UK.”

IOM UK is now the 14th organisation in the Refugee Week partnership, which includes several of the UK’s leading refugee support and agencies, and is coordinated and managed by Counterpoints Arts.
