Refugee Week happens every year from Monday to the Sunday around World Refugee Day, which is 20 June.

This means that Refugee Week will again coincide with the Muslim holy month of Ramadan this year.

Refugee Week is a time for people of all faiths and backgrounds to come together to celebrate what we share, and we sincerely regret if any Muslim members of our network feel unable to fully participate in the festival because of this timing.

However, it goes without saying that those observing Ramadan are warmly welcome to hold and take part in Refugee Week events, and we are delighted that many Refugee Week 2017 events include the opportunity for all communities to share Iftar together (breaking of the daily fast).

There is a Syrian Refugee Community Iftar in London, a Great Get Together event with Iftar in Leeds and an Iftar Sleep Out in Wickford, and  Nottingham will celebrate Eid with a Lets Eid Together! event on 26 June.

Ramadan Mubarak to all our supporters who are fasting this month.
