The Refugee Week celebration that was held at the Town Hall Square in Leicester on June 18 saw performances, music, poetry and storytelling from Leicester-based artists celebrating the contribution refugees have made and continue to make to Leicester and Britain.
The celebration was organised by the British Red Cross.
As part of the celebration, artists turned gold and silver space blankets into flags and flew them from makeshift post at the square as symbols of welcome for people seeking refuge.
